In the latest Car and Driver head-to-head comparison match up, the 2019 Honda CR-V has beat out its newest rival. In this match up, Car and Driver editors pitted the CR-V against its newest rival, the 2019 Toyota RAV4.

In this matchup, the CR-V provided a better value. According to Car and Driver, “while the RAV4 is slightly more distinctive in appearance and a bit more tech-forward with its sharper touchscreen interface, the CR-V makes up for its lack of style with impressive substance. The Honda provides more space, better engine performance, and plenty of features, all for less money than the Toyota. That's a winning formula as much today as it was when the CR-V first hit the scene more than 20 years ago."

The 2019 Honda CR-V is easy to drive and can fit a wide array of lifestyles, all thanks to being user-friendly and having a versatile interior. The Honda CR-V features two rows of seats and space for five people, and can accommodate up to 10 carry-on suitcases in its cargo holds. Loading cargo also is a bit easier in the CR-V due to its load floor having a 1.2-inch lower liftover height than the RAV4's.

According to the article, Honda makes better use of its overall space with its rear seats feeling more spacious, featuring more leg room. That’s ever so important.

As far as the engine is concerned, the CR-V outperformed in its acceleration test, reaching 60 mph in 7.4 seconds. The CR-V rides comfortable and handles with confidence.

For those who are technologically inclined, the CR-V does offer both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring capabilities.
