The all-new 2019 Honda Passport has achieved a 5-star Overall Vehicle Score, which is the highest available overall safety rating that is issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as part of its New Car Assessment Program (NCAP). With this result, every tested 2019 Honda vehicle has earned an NCAP 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA.

The Honda Passport, as well as other models’ crashworthiness is enabled in part by the latest generation of Honda's proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure. This is a network of front-frame structures that are designed to absorb, as well as deflect the energy from a front end collision.

It’s not just crashworthiness, the Honda Sensing® suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies is now standard equipment on the 2019 Passport, Accord, Civic, Clarity series, Insight, and Pilot and available on every Honda nameplate. Since introducing Honda Sensing® back in 2015 on the CR-V, Honda has sold over 2.1 million vehicles equipped with this helpful tool and nearly 85 percent of all new Honda vehicles sold in 2019 are equipped with Honda Sensing®.

Honda Sensing®’s goal is to help provide greater awareness of driving conditions around the vehicle overall. In some cases it helps drivers to maintain lane position and, under certain conditions, aloows the car to slow or even stop if it detects there may be a potential front collision. The Honda Sensing® suite is comprised of Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Forward Collision Warning; Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW); Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS); and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Honda has a long history of leadership in the development and application of advanced technologies that are designed to enhance the safety of all road users. Not just those in automobiles, but also motorcycle riders and pedestrians.
